On October 14, 2024, representatives of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Department of Finance welcomed a delegation of female businessmen from Zhejiang province, China to learn about the environment and investment opportunities in Hai Phong.

Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai, Head of Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Department of Finance, expressed her joy at welcoming the delegation in the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating Vietnamese Women's Day October 20. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai said that cumulatively as of October 14, 2024, in the city there were 413 investment projects of Chinese investors (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) with a total registered investment capital of 6.3 billion USD, including enterprises from Zhejiang Province. China ranks 2nd in number of projects and 6th in total investment capital in Hai Phong. Chinese investors carried out investment activities in Hai Phong city very early, contributing to creating a large number of jobs for workers and making certain contributions.h for the city's socio-economy. Chinese investment projects are mainly in the fields of: manufacturing and processing industry, investment and business in industrial park infrastructure and real estate, and trading of commercial goods.
Also at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai shared that Hai Phong is focusing on infrastructure development; industrial parks, economic zones, especially the southern coastal economic zone with an area of 20,000 hectares. According to Hai Phong city planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the city prioritizes the development of key industries that play a leading role in the city's economic growth, including: electronic products and information technology; seaport and logistics services; commerce.

Overview of the working session
At the meeting, female businessmen in Zhejiang province, China were provided with general information about the investment environment, industrial clusters and the city's investment attraction orientation. Assessing Hai Phong as an attractive destination for Chinese businesses and investors, with outstanding advantages in seaports, convenient transportation systems and strongly invested infrastructure, the Zhejiang business women's delegation hopes that the parties will expand investment cooperation in Hai Phong in the near future.

During the meeting, Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai, Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department answered questions from the Women's Business Group about policies, regulations, and investment incentives in Hai Phong. For questions falling under the jurisdiction of other Departments, committees and branches, the Foreign Economic Relations Department will respond to investors through email and contact points of the Working Group in Vietnam. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai hopes that after this business trip, more businesses from Zhejiang Province will choose Hai Phong as a survey and investment destination, contributing to the development of the two localities in the fields of shipping, industry, trade, tourism... Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai affirmed that the success of investors is the development of the city.
