(Haiphong.gov.vn) - From July 2 to 10, 2024, the city's working group led by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho inspected and accepted the results of the Nguyen Trai bridge wind tunnel experiment and actual survey of a number of bridge projects in the US and Canada.

At a meeting with the wind tunnel testing organizer of Nguyen Trai Bridge, SOH Wind Engineering LLC (SOH Consulting Company for short), Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho said that Hai Phong is an important seaport city in the Northern region, with many large bridge projects connecting inter-regions and within urban areas. The Nguyen Trai Bridge project is the 5th bridge across the Cam River being implemented, connecting the current urban area and the new urban area North of the Cam River. Therefore, the city's requirement is not only to design and build a beautiful, highly aesthetic project, but also to ensure technical requirements, bearing capacity, especially wind resistance for cable-stayed bridge structures.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Tho emphasized that the city is very interested in the process and results of wind tunnel testing so that the project can be deployed soon to ensure the goals of serving transport infrastructure and socio-economic development.

Working process, leaders of TEDI Consulting Company reported on the process of coordinating with SOH Consulting Company to carry out wind tunnel testing on Nguyen Trai Bridge. Accordingly, this is a bridge with beautiful and unique architecture but also with a complex structure that requires wind testing during the construction and exploitation stages. Reporting to the Working Group, SOH Consulting Company affirmed that up to now, the process of testing wind models of Nguyen Trai Bridge during the construction and exploitation phase has been completed, ensuring technical requirements according to the project's design standards, ensuring safety and wind resistance stability.

After listening to the reports of SOH Consulting Company, TEDI Consulting and opinions of members of the Working Group, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho highly appreciated the coordination of the Investor and consulting unit in implementing design and testing work to ensure technical processes and getting results. The Vice Chairman requested consulting units TEDI and SOH to urgently complete documents and project designs to complete procedures for submission to the Ministry of Transport for appraisal and approval by the City People's Committee to ensure project implementation progress.
