(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of September 20, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam delegation led by Mr. Chang Ho-Seung, Minister Counselor and Consul General, came to encourage and visit the situation of overcoming damage after the storm in Hai Phong. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong received and worked with the delegation. Also attending were the Korean Chamber of Commerce Association (KOCHAM) Hai Phong and the Korean Association in Hai Phong.

Thanking the Korean Embassy Delegation for taking the time to visit after storm No. 03 in the city, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong gave quick information about the situation of overcoming the consequences of Hai Phong. Storm No. 3 landed in Hai Phong city on September 7, causing heavy damage to people and property, seriously affecting people's lives and production and business activities of enterprises. Economic losses are estimated at 10.6 trillion VND.

Hai Phong city leaders promptly and drastically directed agencies and functional units along with the military and police forces to organize troubleshooting, clean up waste and fallen trees, and restore essential infrastructure to serve people's daily lives as quickly as possible. The seaport system has restored normal operations as of 5:00 a.m. on September 9. In industrial parks in the city, up to now, over 95% of businesses have restored operations. Localities and units organized donations, visits, encouragement, and timely support for families of the dead, injured, and families damaged by Storm No. 3. City leaders directly visited and encouraged Korean businesses and citizens in Hai Phong. TronIn the coming time, Hai Phong city will continue to focus on overcoming and repairing damaged dykes and infrastructure projects; proactively mobilize local resources and other legal capital sources to urgently overcome the consequences of Storm No. 3.
