By the end of December 31, 2023, the result of state budget revenue in the city reached 103,619 billion VND

– On the afternoon of December 31, comrades: Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee visited and encouraged civil servants of the Hai Phong State Treasury; Hai Phong Customs Department; The City Tax Department closes the budget revenue and expenditure books at the end of the year. Also attending were leaders of relevant departments and branches.

In 2023, the general economic situation faces many difficulties and challenges, negatively impacting production and business activities of enterprises and limiting consumption. Tax exemption and reduction policies and many other objective factors have had an impact on reducing revenue paid into the state budget, while budget collection tasks continue to increase. However, under the close and drastic direction of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, with the participation of the entire political system, by the end of December 31, 2023, the state budget revenue in the city still reached 103,619 billion VND.

According to leaders of the Tax Department, in the fourth quarter of 2023, revenue reached 21,653 billion VND, equal to 211.4% over the same period (10,241 billion VND). This is the quarter with the highest revenue in recent years. Particularly in December 2023, revenue will reach 12,297 billion VND, exceeding 966 billion VND compared to the estimate. Thus, the total domestic revenue in 2023 will reach 43,466 billion VND, reaching 138.7% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government, 102.3% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council, equal to 117.5% compared to the implementation in 2022.

Director of Hai Phong State Treasury, Pham Tien Dung reported at the working session. 

State Treasury leaders said that total budget expenditures through the Treasury as of December 31, 2023 (not including transfer expenses and only transfer sources) reached 32,660 billion VND, reaching 83.8% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council.

Director of Hai Phong Customs Department, Nguyen Duy Ngoc spoke at the meeting work.

Leaders of Hai Phong Customs Department said that by the end of December 31, the Tax Department collected more than 65,519 billion VND, reaching 82% of the assigned target, down 16.8% compared to the same period in 2022. Of which, the Hai Phong area collected more than 57,406 billion VND, reaching 98.9% of the target set by the City People's Committee.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung praised the units for always being united, highly determined, and making efforts to carry out budget collection tasks. At the same time, we hope that in 2024, the units will continue to promote and exceed the budget revenue estimates assigned by the City People's Council. The city sets a target of striving for state budget revenue in the area to reach 106,761 billion VND, of which domestic revenue is 45,000 billion VND, revenue from import and export activities is 60,000 billion VND.
