(Haiphong.gov.vn) - The City People's Committee has just proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to comment on the project of planting flowers on both sides of the road across Cat Ba Island, in order to create a highlight in the landscape and a stopping point for tourists when visiting Cat Ba Island, and at the same time contribute to greening the cliffs due to having to carry out rock demolition to expand provincial road 356.
The project is implemented in the communes of Phu Long, Hien Hao, Xuan Dam, Tran Chau, Cat Ba Town and the entire vacant land project area, mostly located in traffic corridors.
It is expected that flowers will be planted on both sides of the road with a total length of more than 9,665m. Plants will be selected to suit Cat Ba's climate. Flowers and landscape plants will be used such as: bougainvillea, pomelo, dwarf hibiscus, apricot tree...
The project of planting flowers on both sides of the road through Cat Ba Island will contribute to creating a beautiful and lively landscape, increasing the level of biodiversity, preserving and promoting the value of National Monuments, especially the scenic spots of Cat Ba archipelago, meeting the aesthetic and sightseeing needs of people and tourists.
Funding for project implementation is from the budget of Cat Hai district.
