(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of September 16, the Central Business Sector Party Committee delegation led by comrade Nguyen Long Hai, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Business Sector Party Committee, came to hand over funds to support Hai Phong city in overcoming damage caused by Storm No. 3 (Yagi).
Welcoming and working with the delegation were comrades: Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong city; Dao Trong Duc, Member of the City Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Storm No. 3 is the biggest storm in the past 30 years in the East Sea. According to initial reports, 2 people died in the city and 65 were injured; 102,873 houses were damaged and many headquarters, schools, medical facilities, trees, crops, telecommunications systems... suffered heavy damage, seriously affecting people's lives and production and business activities of enterprises. The total damage to date (converted into money) is estimated to be nearly 11 trillion VND (equal to 1/10 of the city's total budget revenue in 2023). Up to now, the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has received funding of nearly 7 billion VND.
At the Conference, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group awarded equipment including: backup charger, 4G phone sim with a total value of 2.6 billion VND; Vietnam Oil and Gas Group donated 1.5 billion VND in funding, of which 1 billion VND supported the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; 500 million VND to support the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuy Nguyen district; Vietnam Maritime Company donated 300 million VND to Hai Phong People to overcome the consequences of Storm No. 3.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector, noted that the work of preventing floods and storms and overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 3, restoring telecommunications infrastructure, power grids, seaports... has been comprehensively led and directed by the City Party Committee and People's Committee. Hai Phong has drastically directed the prevention and control of Storm No. 3 to minimize human damage; Experience in storm prevention and control has been promoted and received the trust of businesses and people. Up to now, the power grid and basic telecommunications infrastructure have been overcome. Sharing the city's difficulties in overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 3, the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector mobilized Groups and Corporations to share with the city in overcoming the problem.Damage caused by Storm No. 3 to soon return production and business activities to normal.
