(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 26, at Exhibition House No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City, Hai Phong City People's Committee organized a press meeting to inform about the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2024 with the theme "Hai Phong - Brightening up the heritage region". The Red Poinciana Festival is a political - cultural and social event, a typical traditional festival, the pride of Hai Phong people, held annually in May in association with the Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day. The festival is organized to promote and introduce historical traditions, culture and image of the city; build brand, enhance position and reputation of Hai Phong domestically and internationally; promote diversification and improve the quality of tourism products; contributing to economic restructuring, meeting the expectations of Hai Phong people, overseas Vietnamese, domestic and foreign tourists; Emulate and strive to exceed the goals and targets of socio-economic development, national defense and security plans.

Under the direction of the City Party Committee and People's Committee, the Red Poinciana Festival - Hai Phong 2024 is organized on a city-level scale in association with the 69th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024) and receiving the title of World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago from the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. The highlight of the Festival is the Art Program with the theme "Hai Phong - Brightening up the heritage region" taking place at 8:00 p.m. on May 11, 2024 (Saturday), broadcast live on VTV1 channel, relayed by Hai Phong Radio and Television Station and a number of TV stations in neighboring provinces and cities. This is the first year held at the Political - Administrative Center Square, North Cam River Urban Area, Thuy Ngu DistrictYen, Hai Phong city. The program ends with a 15-minute high- and low-level fireworks display.
General director Dang Le Minh Tri informed about the idea of staging the program with many meaningful highlights, typical of Hai Phong city.
The Festival's Art Program is staged with high artistic quality, showing the most typical values and features of legends, history, cultural heritage, images, and people of Hai Phong using real scenes, combined with AR technology (Augmented Reality - virtual reality). Especially with the participation and performances of the most famous artists and singers in Vietnam and the city (Expected to include: Vietnam National Folk Orchestra, Central Brass Orchestra, People's Artist Khanh Hoa, singers: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Thu Phuong, Tung Duong, People's Artist Khanh Hoa, Phuong Linh, Pham Thu Ha, Isacc, Hoa Minzy, Erik ... Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, HT Dance Troupe, Mai Trang Dance Company, Sao Tuoi Tre Children's Club... along with Nearly 1,000 artists, actors...
