(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of June 2, a high-ranking Lao State Inspectorate delegation led by comrade Khamphan Phommathat Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Commission, Lao State Inspector General visited and worked with the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to learn about the city's socio-economic development situation, inspection work to resolve complaints. complaints, denunciations and prevention and combat of corruption in the city.

This is a meaningful visit in the context that the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vietnam - Laos establishing diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (1977 - 2022). Also attending were comrade Dang Cong Huan, Deputy Inspector General of the Government and the Working Group of the Government Inspectorate.

Expressing joy and welcoming the Working Group of High-ranking Delegates of the Lao State Inspectorate and the Working Group of the Government Inspectorate to visit and work in Hai Phong city. Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos has been nurtured and developed strongly, practically and effectively by generations of leaders of the two Parties, States and people of the two countries in all fields, for the prosperity and happiness of the two peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Chairman of the City People's Committee said that Hai Phong is one of the major cities in Vietnam, on the path of strong economic and social development, and Hai Phong is also one of the localities with close relationships with the Lao people. In recent times, Vientiane and Udomxay provinces of Laos and Hai Phong city have regularly had activities to visit, work, exchange experiences, and cooperate in many fields: education-training, agriculture, trade, transportation... to date, they have trained hundreds of Lao students, contributing to cultivating solidarity between the two brotherly peoples.

At the information and reporting meeting on inspection work, resolving complaints and denunciations and preventing corruption in 2021 and the first months of 2022, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan said that following the direction of the Government, the Government Inspectorate, City Party Committee and City People's Committee have issued many documents directing all levels and branches to strengthen citizen reception and resolution work. Complaints and denunciations, direct all levels and branches to improve responsibility in citizen reception, resolve complaints and denunciations to ensure compliance with regulations, focus on resolving complaints and denunciations under authority right from the grassroots level, to prevent them from becoming "hot spots".

In 2021 and the first 5 months of 2022, the whole city received 5,804 citizens with 4,703 incidents, of which 203 large groups with 183 incidents. Received 9,015 letters of all kinds, of which 7,423 were qualified to handle (complaints: 612 complaints, 729 denunciations, 6,082 petitions).

Also, the City People's Committee has issued an anti-corruption plan, requiring all levels and sectors to implement anti-corruption work according to the law, focusing on a number of anti-corruption measures such as: transparent declaration of assets and income; administrative reform, propaganda and dissemination of laws, strengthening inspection and examination...

Thanking the city leaders for the warm welcome, comrade Khamphan Phommathat respectfully congratulates the socio-economic achievements that Hai Phong has achieved in recent times. He hopes that through the visit, the two Inspection agencies will continue to share valuable experiences in directing and operating inspection activities, resolving complaints and denunciations and preventing and combating corruption, and together draw lessons to further improve work efficiency. At the same time, we hope that in the coming time, the two sides will increasingly strengthen their relationship on the basis of common interests, contributing to bringing the relationship between the two Parties, the two countries, and the two Inspection agencies to a new level.
