On the morning of June 17, Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, chaired a courtesy reception for the high-level delegation of the Ministry of Justice of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Comrade Khamphanh Phommathat, Member of the Political Bureau of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Justice. The delegation was visiting, working, and attending the 7th Expanded Conference of Justice Agencies of Vietnamese and Lao Border Provinces.
Also attending the reception were Comrade: Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee; Khamphao Ern-tha-van, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam; Hoang Thanh Tung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; representatives of leaders from central ministries, agencies, and relevant departments, boards, and sectors of the city.

On behalf of the leaders and people of Hai Phong City, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Chau expressed his pleasure and honor to welcome Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos Khamphanh Phommathat and the high-level delegation to visit and work in the city, coinciding with an event of significant importance for the justice sectors of both countries. He affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos are invaluable assets, diligently preserved and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries. Highly appreciating Hai Phong's selection as the venue for the 7th Expanded Conference of Justice Agencies of Vietnamese and Lao Border Provinces, the Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that this is a precious opportunity for the city to contribute to further strengthening the close solidarity and enhancing the effectiveness of legal and judicial cooperation between localities and ministries of the two countries.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the solemn, thoughtful, and fraternal reception extended by the leaders of Hai Phong City to the delegation, Comrade Khamphanh Phommathat highly praised the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development of Hai Phong port city in recent times. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos expressed his desire that in the new phase, the friendly cooperative relationship between the ministries, agencies, and localities of Laos and Hai Phong City will continue to be strongly promoted, becoming increasingly profound and substantive. He emphasized that both sides still have great potential to expand connections in key areas such as education and training, healthcare, agriculture, environment, natural resources, and minerals, as well as to strengthen people-to-people exchanges to solidify solidarity at the grassroots level.


To concretize the discussions at the working session and comprehensively implement the results achieved from this Justice Conference, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Le Ngoc Chau stated that the city would assign the Department of Justice as the focal point to coordinate closely with relevant units to thoroughly research cooperation opportunities between the two sides. From this, a specific plan will be compiled for submission to the city leaders for consideration and direction of implementation in the coming period. Wishing the delegation's visit to Vietnam many good results, the Secretary of the City Party Committee expressed profound confidence that the comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and two States in general, between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries, and between Hai Phong City and Lao localities in particular, will increasingly develop strongly and effectively, making positive contributions to the peace and prosperity of the people of both countries./.
