(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of February 20, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation inspected the implementation status of investment projects to build wharves No. 3, 4, 5, 6 in the Hai Phong international gateway port area and the investment project to build Xuan Cau Industrial Park and non-tariff zone.

The investment project to build wharf No. 3 and No. 4 is invested by Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of about 6,946 billion VND, investment scale, construction of 2 container wharves of 2x375m=750m, 50m wide, receiving container ships of 100,000DWT; 1 barge wharf, 250m long service to receive ships and barges with capacity of 100-160TEU; System of storage yards, roads, auxiliary works and synchronous technical infrastructure. At this time, EC package: Total construction volume reaches about 70%. Container terminal No. 3 and No. 4, barge terminal have been completed about 90%, expected to be fully completed in April 2024. Ground treatment, wicking construction on 14ha/19.7ha, sand filling for about 9.8ha. The realized value to date has reached about 1,990 billion VND, the disbursement rate has reached 100%.

For the investment project to build wharf No. 5 and No. 6, Hateco Group Joint Stock Company is the investor. Total investment is 8,951 billion VND. Investment scale: 2 berths 900 m long; Receiving container ships up to 18,000 Teus/. 2 barge berths 200 m long, receiving ships with a capacity of 160 Teus; along with port protection works, warehouse systems, port service infrastructure, ship parking areas and water areas connected to the Lach Huyen public navigation channel. By mid-March, the completed value as of February 15, 2024 is about VND 3,881 billion. The construction is expected to ensure the plan to put the project into operation in the first quarter of 2025.
Through field inspection of port construction projects No. 3, 4, 5, 6, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau acknowledged that the investors of the projects have made efforts in construction, focusing on human resources and construction equipment right from the beginning of the year. Giving gifts and encouraging officials and workers on the construction site, the Secretary of the City Party Committee wished the units to continue their efforts to focus on organizing construction, ensuring early completion and putting into operation. The City Party Secretary said that with the view that the success of businesses is the success of the city, the city always creates the best conditions for businesses to invest in production and business effectively.

At the Xuan Cau Industrial Park and Non-tariff Zone Construction Investment Project, the Secretary of the City Party Committee gave gifts and encouraged officials and workers on the construction site, recognizing the investor's great efforts in organizing the project's construction. With a total investment capital of 11,100 billion VND, phase 1, construction began on May 13, 2023. At this time, the temporary embankment for leveling is about 60%; Wastewater treatment station category reached about 30%; Construction of roads, power supply systems, and ground leveling is underway. The total value of the project's bid packages and contracted work is about VND 1,400 billion. The realized output by 2023 is about over 400 billion VND. Output in 2024 is expected to be over 800 billion VND.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that the formation of Xuan Cau Industrial Park and non-tariff zone and the system of deep-water wharves of Lach Huyen International Port will contribute to creating an increasingly perfect structure of technical infrastructure, maximizing the value chain of Lach Huyen International Port as well as the non-tariff - logistics and industrial zone in this area. Comrade Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the Investor to continue focusing on human resources and means to speed up the construction progress, to complete phase 1 in mid-2025, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the city and the whole country.
