(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 5, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee organized a conference to meet and dialogue with foreign direct investment enterprises in Hai Phong city. Comrade Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation chaired the Conference.

The dialogue conference aims to answer difficulties and problems in investment, production and business of FDI enterprises operating in the city; At the same time, connect investment and business cooperation between FDI enterprises and the city's supporting industrial enterprises, FDI enterprises with universities and vocational training establishments in the city in training and labor supply. The results obtained at the Conference will be practical solutions, in accordance with the aspirations of businesses to continue improving the business investment environment to promote foreign investment attraction. The conference also approved orientations to attract and call for foreign investment cooperation and information on the city's vision, planning, and development orientation in the future.In the coming time, from there, investors and businesses will have a comprehensive and accurate view of the city, and have more solid and suitable business investment plans in the future.

At the same time, we will coordinate closely with ministries, branches and localities to create favorable conditions for business investment activities of the business community in general and foreign investment in particular in Vietnam to be effective and successful.

At the conference, there are 5 groups of fields that businesses are interested in: In the field of labor, businesses have difficulty recruiting workers, especially the shortage of skilled workers at FDI enterprises both inside and outside industrial zones. The tax and customs sector group proposed continuing preferential policies, reducing taxes and land rent for businesses in industrial parks. Energy sector groups and businesses propose to provide stable electricity supply to factories and industrial parks, solving the situation of abnormal annual power outages that stop production lines of businesses and delay the delivery schedule for customers. Regarding administrative procedures, businesses still encounter many difficulties when implementing themadministrative procedures at Departments, branches and units (for example, for construction permit procedures and land allocation procedures) and request city leaders to direct the implementation of administrative procedure reform in a synchronous and unified method so that civil servants at all levels and branches can easily apply and implement. In the field of investment and businesses, the city requested the city to support and create conditions to introduce suitable locations to implement projects related to education.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee, affirmed: City leaders pledge to always accompany and gain special attention, practical and effective support to continue promoting the development of the FDI business sector. Specifically, the City will focus on accelerating the establishment and expansion of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones, especially the establishment of the Southern Coastal Economic Zone; Promote procedures for establishing a new generation Free Trade Zone with outstanding incentive mechanisms to attract foreign capital flows and technology corporations to invest. Pay attention to developing high-quality human resources and a skilled workforce. Assign the Party Committee of the City People's Committee to direct research and build a "one-stop shop" mechanism for real FDI enterprisesimplementing project procedures, preventing businesses from having to go back and forth to many agencies to carry out project procedures in Hai Phong.
Regarding energy issues, from experience in overcoming problems during and after storm No. 3 (Yagi), the City will direct the development of power supply plans to respond to emergencies, minimizing sudden stops and power outages affecting the production lines of businesses; Mobilize resources to accelerate investment progress in power supply projects in the area.
Focus on developing high-quality housing and social housing, international school systems, international hospitals, high-quality amusement, entertainment, and tourism areas, convenient housing... so that investors and families can feel secure and settle down to live and work long-term in Hai Phong.
Within the framework of the program, Hai Phong city leaders awarded important memorandums of understanding in 5 areas to businesses.
