Concentrate information on main tasks and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan and state budget estimates for 2024

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of January 10, the Central Propaganda Department organized an online conference for January 2024 Rapporteur. Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy chaired the conference.

At the Hai Phong bridge, attending the Conference were Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee Dao Van Hoan; and leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.

The conference was connected online from Hanoi bridge point to 1,400 bridge points across the country. Also attending the Conference were leaders of ministries, departments, branches and central agencies.

At the Conference, Deputy Minister Ministry of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong informed about "Overview of the socio-economic situation in 2023; forecast of the situation and socio-economic development plan in 2024". Accordingly, in 2023, the socio-economic situation will continue its recovery trend, next month will be more positive than the previous month, the next quarter will be higher than the previous quarter, basically achieving the overall set goals and many important results in all fields. Economic growth in the next quarter is higher than the previous quarter, the whole year increased by 5.05%, belonging to the high growth group in the region and the world, increasing the scale of the economy to about 430 billion USD; The average annual consumer price index increased by 3.25% (exceeding the control target at clauseg 4.5%); State budget revenue exceeded about 8.12% of the estimate while exempting, reducing, extending taxes, fees, charges and land rent of nearly 194 trillion VND; At the same time, increasing revenue and saving expenses, about 560 trillion VND has been appropriated, ensuring enough resources for salary reform in the 3 years 2024 - 2026; Total import-export turnover for the whole year reached 683 billion USD, with a trade surplus of about 28 billion USD; Total social investment capital increases by 6.2% compared to 2022...

Next, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, provided information about "Overview of the world situation, foreign affairs activities of the Party and State in 2023; forecast of the world situation and foreign affairs tasks in 2024". Representatives of the Central Propaganda Department also oriented propaganda work in January 2024.
