(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of June 7, the Department of Health held a conference to strengthen the work of ensuring food safety of street food. Attending the Conference were Deputy Director of the Department of Health Phan Huy Thuc; and representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, units and localities.

Hai Phong currently has about 7,772 street food service establishments. Most street food establishments are small retail establishments; However, there are also many establishments that provide large quantities of up to hundreds. Of these, 6,276 establishments have signed a commitment to ensure food safety (reaching 80.8%); 4,475 establishments will be inspected in 2023 (reaching 57.6%); 20 establishments were sanctioned (accounting for 0.4% of inspected establishments); 3,616 establishments have been trained in food safety knowledge (reaching 46.5%).

Concluding remarks at the Conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Phan Huy Thuc requested departments, branches, units and localities to strengthen propaganda and raise consumer awareness on ensuring street food safety; Regularly organize training, improve professional expertise, propagate to appropriate target groups... Along with that, strengthen inspection, examination, and strictly handle violations; Coordinate closely and effectively across sectors to control the origin of food consumed in the city...
