Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Binh made a concluding speech at the meeting.(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of March 4, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh and functional agencies inspected the progress of implementing package B - Construction of Vinh Niem Wastewater Treatment Plant under the Stormwater Drainage, Wastewater and Solid Waste Management Project.
Vinh Niem wastewater treatment plant is built on an area of 17.5 hectares with a design capacity, treating 36,000m3 of wastewater/day and night, constructed by the contractor Kumho Company (Korea) along with a Japanese supervision consultant.
According to the report of the Project Management Board, up to this point, the construction volume of package B has reached about 98% including construction of treatment stations, construction of mechanical and electrical parts, and installation of equipment. The project has basically been completed and test running conditions are guaranteed. Currently, the contractor is testing the interlocks. On March 9, the interlock will be tested and it is expected that after 2 weeks of testing, it will be transferred to the Investor.
Through field inspection, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh assessed that the project progress has had positive changes. The completion of the project ensures the implementation of international commitments between Hai Phong city and Jica organization (Japan) as well as affirms responsibility for the city's people in the issue of waste and wastewater treatment to provide a safe living environment to serve daily life. of the people.
Emphasizing the conclusions at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Binh requested relevant parties to review the contract, determine responsibilities for implementing the project in accordance with technical and technological standards, according to contractual commitments and the provisions of Vietnamese law. Assign the Department of Construction and the City People's Committee Office and relevant units to inspect, review and evaluate according to the 3 criteria mentioned above.
The Permanent Vice Chairman also requested the Department of Construction and Drainage Company Limited to proactively develop plans and propose connecting wastewater sources to the plant. In particular, pay special attention to the classification of wastewater sources such as industrial wastewater, medical wastewater, domestic wastewater... for appropriate treatment. At the same time, the Management Board was assigned to have a plan to plant trees to ensure a clean and beautiful green environment.
