(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of May 27, at Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, the Vietnam Business Network supporting the development of women's empowerment (VBCWE) and Shinec Joint Stock Company jointly organized the Workshop “Increasing the empowerment of female workers in enterprises in the Industrial Park – Creating social value in ESG”.
Attending the Conference were representatives of leaders of Shinec Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Women Business Association, Vietnam Red Star Business Club, Women Business Associations of provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen and manufacturing enterprises in the network of Associations.

Currently, ESG has become an inevitable trend in business activities globally. In Vietnam, up to 80% of businesses are committed or planning to implement ESG. This is one of the three standard elements, building social value (S – Social) is receiving special attention, in which the diversity, equality and inclusion (D,E&I) aspect plays an important role in the social pillar of ESG.
In her opening speech at the Workshop, Ms. Ha Thu Thanh - President of VBCWE clearly stated that increasing the power of female workers in businesses in industrial zones is part of a series of activities to promote gender equality in the workplace that VBCWE has carried out over the past 6 years. At this conference, the President of VBCWE wants to spread the message to businesses about important values that help businesses develop sustainably, so that businesses can improve their competitiveness in the new trend, which is the stable maintenance of a highly skilled labor force, in which female workers account for an important and vital proportion.

At this workshop, delegates focused on discussing the following topics: Diverse, equitable and inclusive green industrial park model, focusing on gender equality - initiatives for sustainable development in industrial parks; Affirming the role of leadership in creating a diverse, equal and inclusive working environment in the Industrial Park. From there, we aim to connect business leaders in Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, share successful experiences and effective strategies to build a green and fair environment in industrial parks. Raise awareness of gender equality in the workplace and convert this awareness into specific action programs to increase the empowerment of female workers; along with that is exchanging and learning methods toimprove the empowerment of female workers in industrial parks; discuss policies and activities to support female workers, and promote the role of trade unions in creating a diverse, fair and integrated working environment for female workers....
