(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of August 21, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh received a courtesy call on New Zealand Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Mr. Keith Conway to exchange, learn information and seek cooperation opportunities between Hai Phong - New Zealand. Also attending were leaders of city departments and branches.

Thanking the warm welcome from the leaders of Hai Phong city, Mr. Keith Conway, Deputy Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam, said that this visit to Hai Phong was to explore investment cooperation opportunities and promote the relationship between Hai Phong and New Zealand. In particular, during the period when Vietnam first joined CPTPP, the New Zealand side wanted to share experience in import-export management at seaports in which Hai Phong has strengths. Deputy Ambassador shared many opportunities in educational cooperation for Vietnamese students and officials. The Deputy Ambassador also affirmed that Hai Phong is a port city where New Zealand cooperates and shares methods in responding to climate change...
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh expressed his joy when welcoming the New Zealand Deputy Ambassador to visit Hai Phong city. Providing quick information on the city's socio-economic situation in the past year, the city's Vice Chairman said that Hai Phong has always maintained a strong socio-economic development rate, in the first 6 months of 2019 GDP growth reached 16.3%; With the strengths of seaports as well as industrial parks, Hai Phong is attracting huge foreign investment. Vice President Nguyen Van Thanh also informed the Deputy Ambassador about cooperation activities in the field of culture and education between Hai Phong and New Zealand.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated the Deputy Ambassador's visit and wished to take this opportunity to convey the city leaders' invitation to the New Zealand Embassy for a visit to explore investment and development opportunities in Hai Phong city.
