(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of February 24, at the Cultural House of An Duong district, Hai Phong Youth Union organized the program "Starting Youth Month 2024". This is an activity aimed at celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the 10th anniversary of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat agreeing to choose 2014 as the "Year of Youth Volunteers", the 20th anniversary of March being chosen by the Party and State as "Youth Month" and welcoming the Congress of Vietnam Youth Union delegates at all levels for the 2024 - 2029 term.
Attending the program were comrades: Le Tri Vu, Member of the City Party Standing Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Tran Thi Quynh Trang, Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the An Duong District Party Committee; Vuong Toan Thu Thuy, Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the city's Vietnam Youth Union. Also attending were representatives of Districts, District Youth Unions, affiliated Youth Unions, and public service units under the City Youth Union; Representatives of accompanying units, sponsors and more than 500 city youth union members.

Youth Month 2024 with the theme "Youth volunteers for community life" aims to promote the role of volunteers, youth, and creativity, thereby arousing pride in the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in each officer, union member, and youth; create a vibrant emulation movement to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
For Youth Month 2024, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union deployed many activities to all levels of the Union, focusing on the tasks of promoting the role of the city's youth in implementing projects and contributing to completing political tasks, professional tasks and participating in socio-economic development at the locality and unit; Focus on implementing projects and applying new technology, participating in the process of implementing Digital Transformation; volunteer to ensure social security, protect the environment, and respond to climate change; Deploying youth projects to welcome the Vietnam Youth Union Congress at all levels; Accompanying young people in starting a business, establishing a career in caring for and educating teenagers and children.

In addition, the Youth Union's Standing Committee launched many activities and programs to coordinate and direct the districts and affiliated Youth Unions. It is expected that in Youth Month 2024, Youth Unions at all levels will deploy nearly 150 activities with a total value of nearly 7 billion VND throughout the campaign. The activities will be deployed regularly and widely during the peak period of Youth Month 2024 and are expected to become an extensive political activity of youth throughout the city.

At the program, the City Press Award for Youth Union work and youth movement in 2024 was also launched; giving gifts to children in difficult circumstances in An Duong district with a total value of 20 million VND; awarding "Strong Future" scholarships for students in 2024 with a total value of 210 million VND; awarded symbolic signs to the "Great Solidarity" house worth 80 million VND, the "Red Scarf" house worth 300 million VND, 10,000 casuarina trees worth 100 million VND; launched the digital newsletter Hai Phong Youth Startups.

In the framework of the program, the discussion "Aspiration for contribution - The reason for youth life" took place. This is a practical activity commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2014) and the 70th anniversary of the Cat Bi victory (March 7, 1954 - March 7, 2014). The discussion aims to educate revolutionary ideals, foster living ideals, and aspirations for a meaningful life for young people and children, arouse the spirit of patriotism, and foster the will and desire to rise for the city's youth so that every young person has the ideal of a good life and the desire to contribute to the Fatherland today and in the future.
