(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of July 31, at the Vietnam-Czech Republic Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee opened the first session of the 15th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the city, term 2024-2029.
Comrade Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the opening session of the meeting, there were Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; together with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, socio-political organizations and 279 official delegates representing people from all walks of life throughout the city.

With the theme "Solidarity - democracy - innovation, development", the Congress will take place on July 31 and August 1, 2024. The Congress is responsible for comprehensively evaluating the situation and results of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Congress, term 2019-2024, drawing practical lessons and proposing a practical and effective action program for the new term. In the first session, the 15th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hai Phong city, term 2024 - 2029, conducted negotiations to elect a Presidium of 10 delegates and a Secretary of the Congress including 2 delegates; Voting to approve the agenda and rules of the Congress. At the same time, the Congress reported summarizing contributions to the Draft Political Report submitted to the 1st National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.Chapter X and report on amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX; Political report submitted to the 15th City Fatherland Front Congress; Report reviewing the activities of the Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term XIV, term 2019-2024.

At the first session of the Congress, 09 collectives and 09 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the 2019-2024 term received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee; 12 collectives and 03 individuals who had outstanding achievements during the 2019-2024 term received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Also at the first session, the Congress reported the expected list and consultation to nominate 93 delegates to participate in the 15th City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term 2024-2029 and reported the expected list to send a delegation of 9 delegates to attend the 10th Vietnam Fatherland Front National Congress./.
