(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of November 6, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong city coordinated with the Vietnam Trade Office in the Federal Republic of Germany to organize the "Trade connection program between the Berlin Automobile Association - Brandenburg and Hai Phong Enterprises".

The program aims to establish and expand the cooperation network between the States of Berlin, the State of Brandenburg (Federal Republic of Germany) and Hai Phong city in the field of automobile and mechanical industry, thereby encouraging and promoting automobile manufacturing and trading enterprises and related fields in the city to build cooperative relationships and connections with automobile manufacturing and trading enterprises in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Speaking to welcome the delegation of the Berlin - Brandenburg Automobile Association to visit and work in Hai Phong, Director of the city's Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany has been constantly strengthened, nurtured and developed increasingly well in recent times.

The Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade said that for Hai Phong, Germany is an export surplus market with export turnover more than 3 times higher than import turnover. In the first 9 months of 2024, Hai Phong's total import-export turnover to the German market reached 129.37 million USD, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2023. Of which, export turnover reached 97.92 million USD, an increase of 50% compared to the same period in 2023. with the same period last year; Import turnover reached 31.45 million USD, down 1% over the same period. As for the production of cars and other motor vehicles in the city, most of them are businesses that produce products and accessories to support the car manufacturing industry.
