On August 21, 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) issued Decision No. 2118/QD-BKHCN on the Plan to organize the National Innovation and Startup Festival 2024 (Techfest Vietnam 2024).
Techfest Vietnam is an annual event held for the first time in 2015 by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with organizing units to promote the innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam. The theme of Techfest each year is associated with issues that need to be addressed in the creative startup ecosystem, attracting interest in finding effective, timely solutions.
Techfest 2024 with the theme "A 10-year journey to create a national innovation startup ecosystem" with the main goal of: Introducing, inspiring and honoring outstanding achievements of creative startups in businesses and the whole society; Summarize and evaluate the 10-year journey of forming the eco-system ecosystem and orient the development of the ecosystem in the new period. Create motivation for the economic and social development of Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular from eco-engineering activities with high knowledge content and enhanced international cooperation. Introducing the domestic and international KNST community to the dynamic and developing city of Hai Phong; pioneering in promoting creative skills; create a friendly, favorable, motivating and supportive environmentSupport the formation and development of businesses capable of rapid growth based on the exploitation of intellectual property, technology, and new business models.
Techfest 2024's organization time is expected to be during the week of November 24-30, 2024 and take place within 03 days at Pullman hotel, 12 Tran Phu, Cau Dat ward, Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong city. The scale of the event is expected to have about 6,000 - 8,000 delegates attending, including: Party and State leaders, representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, branches and localities; Representatives of leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and departments of Hai Phong city; representatives of diplomatic agencies and international organizations in Vietnam; Representatives of leaders of corporations, corporations, research institutes, and universities; Representatives of organizations in the KNST ecosystem, investment funds, investors, and companion advisors; KNST enterprise; speaker, chutechnology experts, domestic and international innovation experts; domestic and international press agencies.
The directing agency is the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Committee of Hai Phong city; The organizing unit is the Department of Science and Technology Market and Enterprise Development, Hai Phong City Department of Science and Technology and other coordinating units.
Main activities taking place at the event include: Exhibition of domestic and international KNST products/services; National innovation startup talent competition; Policy forum "Unlocking resources to link and develop STNST Support Centers"; Program "Imprint of Techfest Vietnam's 10-year journey; Summary and closing of the event.
In addition to the activities according to the above program framework, Techfest 2024 also has conferences and seminars organized by members of the Event Organizing Committee such as: Workshop on Promoting the development of Hai Phong's Ecosystem Ecosystem worthy of an Internationally Connected Regional Center; Workshop on Exploiting resources from dual transformation (green transformation, digital transformation) for KNST; Workshop on attracting resources to nurture future unicorns in the logistics field...
With the detailed plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the careful preparation of Hai Phong city, Techfest Vietnam 2024 promises to be an important event, contributing to strongly promoting the innovative startup movement in Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular, creating new momentum for the country's socio-economic development./.
