This is the assertion of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung at the meeting with Saint Petersburg Governor Poltavchenko Georgy Sergeevich, afternoon September 20 local time.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor of Saint Petersburg Poltavchenko Georgy Sergeevich said that although cooperation between the City and Vietnam and localities has achieved many important results, it is still not commensurate with the potential and advantages of both sides. Especially in the near future, when the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement officially takes effect, it will certainly create many new opportunities for businesses on both sides.
Governor of Poltavchenko Georgy Sergeevich said that currently, many Saint Petersburg businesses are very interested in infrastructure development projects, expanding cooperation in the fields of machine manufacturing, import and export of agricultural and aquatic products... Besides, cooperation in the fields of culture and education also has a lot of potential that both sides have not yet exploited.
Thanking the Governor for the respectful and cordial welcome, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung expressed his pleasure to visit Saint Petersburg, a city of famous monuments, also a major economic and cultural center of the Russian Federation, where the 19th session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee took place.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said that the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership is developing well in all fields. Bilateral trade turnover is on the rise. Cooperation in traditional fields such as oil and gas, electric energy, education, and culture has been enhanced. Currently, the two sides are looking for measures to expand cooperation into new fields such as telecommunications, mining, light industry, automobile assembly...
"The Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership with the trust, loyalty and special affection of the two peoples is a solid foundation for cooperative relationships in all fields between the two sides," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung also highly appreciated the strengthening and strengthening of relations between localities of the two countries through regular exchange of delegations between provinces and cities of Vietnam and subjects of the Russian Federation. In particular, economic content became the focus of local visits, significantly contributing to further promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.
"I think that effective cooperation between localities will be a new factor to promote cooperation in general between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Currently, Saint Petersbourg has a close cooperative relationship with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and many other localities in Vietnam.
