(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 6, Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union organized a workshop on "Innovating union operation methods, meeting the needs of union members and workers in new conditions". Attending the conference were representatives of the city's Labor Confederation, Hai Phong Economic Zone Party Committee and business leaders, union presidents of some businesses in the Industrial Parks.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and focused on solving the following issues: Identifying opportunities, challenges and upcoming tasks of trade unions in the new context. How to innovate the content, operating methods, and methods of directing Trade Union activities to ensure substance, effectiveness, closely following the needs and aspirations of union members and workers, promoting the representative role in the enterprise, thereby continuing to attract workers to join the Union, not letting union members leave the organization. How to improve the quality of trade union officials so that each union official not only does a good job of mobilizing workers but is also an expert in consulting, negotiating, dialogue and knows how to adapt in all circumstances, meeting trust and confidence.health of workers in the new situation...

The results of the Workshop will be the basis to propose and recommend to the City Labor Confederation, Party Committee, and Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone solutions to well implement tasks and targets and improve the operational efficiency of trade unions in the coming time.
After nearly 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW, dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo "On innovating the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation", Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Unions at all levels have many innovations in content and methods of operation that dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility with the spirit of solidarity and high sense of responsibility to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Economic Zone Trade Union activities have focused more on care and representation work with the motto of focusing on the grassroots, taking union members as the center. Legal consulting and legal aid work has been promoted. Democratic regulations and dialogue and collective bargaining are implemented more substantively. Promote grassroots-oriented activities with groups of boarding house workers, notably dialogue between migrant workers and local authorities where there are a large number of boarding house workers.
To date, the rate of dialogue at the workplace is 94.2%, 233/294 enterprises are eligible to sign collective labor agreements reaching 79.2%, of which there are 2 multi-enterprise collective labor agreements (type A: 45.9%, type B: 34.3%, type C: 12.4%, type D: 7.3%). Supervision of policy implementation is effective. Payment of salaries, bonuses, sickness, maternity, labor accident benefits... to employees fully and promptly. The care work is maintained effectively, on average each year, subsidies, Tet gifts, and bus tickets are given to 15,658 workers.
The work of propaganda and mobilization of union members and workers continues to be innovated and diversified. Every year, an average of 41,580 workers are propagated about labor laws, trade unions, labor safety, family planning, reproductive health care, HIV, fire prevention... The patriotic emulation movement has aroused the initiative, dynamism, and creativity of labor workers, training awareness, organizing discipline, build industrial working style; Every year, there are over 50,000 innovative initiatives, many advanced examples appear, creating motivation for the production and business activities of enterprises to be maintained and developed. Financial work and union assets are gradually being completed. Workers tiThey believe and join the union at a fairly high rate, reaching 92.8%, the rest are probationary workers and hired workers.
