(Haiphong.vov.vn) - On the afternoon of July 8, comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation chaired the 16th City Party Committee Conference to review the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year; directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. The city's socio-economic situation continues to be stable and developing with relatively good results: Gross product in the city (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 10.32% over the same period (yearly plan increases from 11.5% - 12%), ranking 5th in the country, ranking 25th in the country, leading 5 centrally run cities and ranking 3rd in the Red River Delta. The index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 15.24% over the same period (yearly plan to increase by 15%). State budget revenue is estimated at 62,812.8 billion VND, an increase of 34.77% over the same period (equal to 62.15% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and equal to 56.96% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council). Total social investment capital is estimated at 90,531 billion VND, up 10.28% over the same period (equal to 43.11% of the year's plan). Export turnover is estimated at 17.214 billion USD, an increase of 28.87% compared to thatsame period (equal to 51.26% of the year's plan). Output of goods through the port is estimated at 75.7 million tons, up 9.03% over the same period (equal to 39.84% of the year's plan). Attracting foreign investment FDI is estimated at 1,551.56 million USD, down 21.69% over the same period (equal to 77.58% of the year's plan). The number of tourists is estimated at 4,270.2 thousand, an increase of 16.25% over the same period (equal to 46.93% of the year's plan). As of June 30, 2024, disbursed public investment capital in 2024 reached 5,509.4 billion VND, equal to 32.37% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister (17,019.2 billion VND), equal to 27.58% of the plan assigned by the city (19,972.7 billion VND).

Production and business activities of the corporate sector face many difficulties in the context of slow and weak recovery of domestic and world aggregate demand. There are still a number of fires that cause damage to people and property, affecting people's lives and activities.

The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 upper-level Party Committees on the basis of "Excellent completion of tasks" in 2023: Ngo Quyen, Hong Bang, Thuy Nguyen, Vinh Bao and the Block of City Agencies.
