In the morning of November 16, Hai Phong Department of Finance coordinated with the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam (DBAV) to organize an Investment and Business Connection Conference between Vietnamese and Dutch businesses at the office location of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park. Attending the Conference were representatives of 16 businesses from the Netherlands, along with representatives of Vietnamese businesses operating in Hai Phong in the field of leather and footwear production and Shinec Joint Stock Company (investor of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park).

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Diep, Vice President of DBAV, the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam was established in 1999, with more than 100 members, including large businesses that have invested in Vietnam very early such as Heineken, Friesland Campina, Nedspice Holdings, Philips, De Heus, Unilever..., and many Vietnamese businesses and individuals with business activities between the Netherlands and Vietnam. The association has a close network of links with the Dutch Embassy in Hanoi, EuroCham, VCCI, NLinBusiness. The Association's role is to support Dutch businesses in Vietnam, create a bridge connecting Vietnamese businesses and businesses in the Netherlands, and introduce Vietnamese businesses to the Netherlands to explore investment and business opportunities.

At the Conference, Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Finance, introduced an overview of Hai Phong's socio-economic development and investment attraction situation. Accordingly, Hai Phong is always in the group with the highest growth rate in the country, continuously for 8 years with double digits. The city has many advantages in attracting foreign investment with its strategic geographical location, being one of the few localities in the country that converges all 5 types of traffic; has the largest modern seaport system in the North; Infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters is invested and synchronized; promote the ability to attract investment in Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone. Total foreign investment capital attraction across the city in the first 10 months of 2023 reached more than 3.073 billion USD, g1.68 times higher than the same period in 2022, reaching 153.68% of the 2023 plan, ranking second in the country in attracting FDI. In Hai Phong, there are 16 direct investment projects of Dutch enterprises, with a total investment capital of more than 280 million USD. Projects by investors from the Netherlands operate effectively and contribute positively to the overall socio-economic development of the city. Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen also expressed that in the coming time, Hai Phong City will continue to welcome and work with businesses/investors from the Netherlands to understand the investment environment, through which, realizing investment - business cooperation between Vietnamese and Dutch businesses.

Next, the representative of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park gave a brief presentation introducing the zone to investors/businesses attending the conference. Thereby providing information related to investment support policies as well as incentives that investors enjoy when investing in Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park.
After listening to the exchange from the Vietnamese side, the Dutch business delegation with a number of large footwear enterprises such as Monfrance Schoenmode, Calandschoen, Rhijn Koppen Modesschoenen B.V.in Zeist, ANWR-Garant, Antonio Due Shoe Import expressed their strong impression at the development of Hai Phong and wished to learn about the footwear production process in Vietnam, footwear trends in Vietnam as well as the ability to source this product. Learn about the cost and ability to supply projects related to warehousing, transporting goods from Hai Phong Port to the European region, connecting, and finding suitable opportunities to boost exports; Access and participate in the global value chain of the leather and footwear industry in the Netherlands and the world.
