(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the occasion of Spring Canh Ty - 2020, on the evening of January 13, the City Party Committee - People's Council - City People's Committee organized a conference to meet and contact businesses and international guests. In 2019, Hai Phong city excellently completed socio-economic development targets. Most of the major economic indicators achieved high growth rates, completed and exceeded the plan, demonstrating the city's breakthrough development. The economic growth rate (GRDP) increased by 16.68%, the highest ever, exceeding the target set for 2020, completing the target of the Resolution of the 15th City Party Congress 1 year before.
State budget revenue in the city reached 89,686 billion VND, up 20.5% over the same period, equal to 130% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council; Domestic revenue reached 27,089 billion VND, an increase of 13% compared to the estimate assigned by the Central Government, an increase of 3% compared to the estimate assigned by the City People's Council. Output of goods through the port reached 129.2 million tons, an increase of 18.51% compared to 2018. Tourist attraction reached more than 9 million, an increase of 16.39% compared to the previous year.
Hai Phong city continues to be a destination for domestic and foreign investors, investment capital implemented throughout society always reaches high value and ranks among the top in the country. The city continues to attract many large domestic businesses to invest in the city such as FLC Group, Geleximco Group, Lavifood Joint Stock Company, Nguyen Hoang Education Group; Enterprises with foreign direct investment such as: Chuo Co., Ltd., Minato Co., Ltd., Aeomall Hai Phong Trade Center. In 2019, we can clearly see the outstanding development, focusing investment capital of the private economic sector on the largest projects ever in Hai Phong. That is Vingroup Corporation with a total investment capital of nearly hundreds of thousandsbillions of VND on projects: entertainment area, housing and ecological park on Vu Yen island; Vinhomes Imperia urban area; 45-storey tower; Vinmec International Hospital; Cau Rao 2 Urban Area and especially the Vinfast Automobile Factory Complex with a total investment capital of about 3.5 billion USD... Sungroup is urgently investing in Cat Hai and Cat Ba areas with a total investment capital of 3 billion USD. A number of other large businesses and corporations also invested trillions of VND in capital in Hai Phong such as BRG Group with the Do Son golf course and villa project of more than 2,100 billion VND; 5-star Hilton hotel more than 1,000 billion VND; Nhat Ha Company Limited with 5-star Pullman hotel worth VND 1,600 billion... These projects will significantly change the urban appearance and economic development of Hai Phong.
Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee believed that the business community and entrepreneurs of Hai Phong city would promote the results achieved, contributing with Hai Phong city to excellently complete the socio-economic targets assigned by the Central Government. At the same time, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung pledged that the city will continue to improve the business investment environment, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest, expand production and business and improve competitiveness.
