From December 15 to 17, 2017, in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal state, India, the ASEAN Natural & Organic Food Exhibition (ASEAN Natural & Organic Show) took place.
This is the first specialized fair on natural products, herbal extracts, and functional foods held in India by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) with support from the Indian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
There are about 80 businesses from Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Russia and about 200 Indian businesses participating in the exhibition to introduce products and goods at the Fair.
The fair focuses on displaying and introducing natural products, products extracted from herbs, and functional foods such as: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods, foods, drinks extracted from nature and herbs; decorations; crafts; natural essential oils…
The Vietnamese delegation has 03 businesses participating in the exhibition of clean coffee, tea, turmeric, spices and organic products to enrich soil and 20 businesses participating under the support program of the Governments of Vietnam and India.
The ASEAN functional food and organic cosmetics market is considered a potential market, forecast to reach 4,410.9 million USD, with an average growth rate of 9.5% and accounting for about 6.6% of the global organic functional food and cosmetics market by 2020. Meanwhile, India is considered an exporter of functional food products, products extracted from nature, The second largest herbal medicine in the world, after China.
During the Fair, direct meetings and exchanges (B2B meetings) will take place between Indian managers, businesses and international guests to exchange experiences, grasp market trends and seek business opportunities.
ASEAN has become India's fourth largest trading partner, from more than $30 billion in 2007-2008 to nearly $72 billion in 2016-2017. Investment from ASEAN to India has increased by more than 70 billion USD in the past 17 years, accounting for more than 17% of India's total foreign direct investment (FDI) while India's investment to ASEAN in the same period reached more than 40 billion USD.

This is an activity organized by the Trade Office - Embassy of Vietnam in India in a series of events on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam - India and 25th anniversary of ASEAN - India dialogue relations.
