On the afternoon of May 20, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong received and worked with the Delegation of the Department of Southeast Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Singapore, led by Ms. Wong Yoke Hui, Director of the Department of Southeast Asia and Oceania.

Welcoming the Delegation of the Department of Southeast Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Singapore to visit and learn about the investment environment in Hai Phong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong said that currently, Singapore has 102 investment projects in the area with a total investment capital of more than 9.8 billion USD, focusing mainly in the fields of trade, services, industrial production and real estate. VSIP Industrial Park is one of the typical symbols of cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in Hai Phong, making an important contribution to turning the city into a major industrial center of the Northern region.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his hope that after the working visit, the Department of Southeast Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Singapore will become a bridge for investment promotion between Hai Phong and Singapore businesses, contributing to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore in general, as well as between Hai Phong and Singapore in particular.

Ms. Wong Yoke Hui, Director of the Department of Southeast Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Singapore, expressed her impression of the strong development of Hai Phong - an important economic growth pole of the North in recent times. She highly appreciated the potential and advantages of Hai Phong's seaports, industrial parks, and economic zones, especially Lach Huyen international gateway port.
Ms. Wong Yoke Hui respectfully thanked Hai Phong city for creating favorable conditions and supporting Singapore's VSIP Industrial Park to develop stably, while attracting many strategic investors.
The Singaporean side believes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in many fields such as seaports - logistics, high-tech industry, tourism, green growth-oriented energy, circular economy and digital transformation, contributing to promoting good cooperative relations between Hai Phong and Singapore.
