In recent days, the South Central region and Central Highlands, especially Dak Lak province, have continuously suffered from heavy rain. Tens of thousands of homes were deeply submerged in water, and many areas were severely divided. Floods and rains caused landslides and traffic jams, forcing thousands of households to evacuate urgently and live without food and water for many days.
Preliminary statistics up to now, Dak Lak province has had nearly 30 people dead, 8 people missing, 2 people injured. Property damage was also particularly serious, about 15,000 houses were submerged in water, transportation, education, health infrastructure... were severely damaged. About 3.2 million cattle and poultry died, 127,000 aquaculture cages, and 1,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming were completely lost. About 18,000 hectares of vegetables were flooded and damaged, total damage across the province was estimated at more than 5,300 billion VND.
