(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of February 2 (January 5), the Department of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Hai Phong Overseas Vietnamese Liaison Association to organize the 2025 Homeland Spring Program to meet overseas Vietnamese and relatives.
The program is directed and implemented byCity Party Committee – People's Council – People's Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city. Attending the program were: Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong; Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong; Vice Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Vietnamese Overseas Nguyen Van Lang; Representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and units along with nearly 500 overseas Vietnamese and relatives in many countries and territories around the world...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong quickly informed overseas Vietnamese about the outstanding results in the city's socio-economic development during the year. In 2024, Hai Phong continues to be a bright spot in the country's economic growth and development, with GRDP growth results of over 11%, most of the main economic targets being completed beyond the set plan. The infrastructure system of seaports, airports, and urban transportation continues to be invested, contributing to changing the appearance of the city, creating attraction for foreign investors, expanding urban space and promoting connections with neighboring localities. Social and cultural activities continue to receive attention and are deployed on a widespread and enhanced scalespiritual value for the people of the city. Achieving these results is thanks to the solidarity and efforts of the entire political system and the entire society, including the valuable and important contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad in general, and Hai Phong people living and studying abroad in particular.
Program Overview.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong hopes that in 2025, the overseas Hai Phong community will continue to join hands, contribute, build and develop the city within their capabilities and resources, supporting trade and tourism connections between the city and localities and international organizations. Especially the young generation of overseas Vietnamese - those who are well-trained, dynamic, and creative - will further highlight the image of the country and homeland of Vietnam in the multicultural community in the host country. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong affirmed that the city always listens to the recommendations and suggestions of overseas Vietnamese to build and develop an increasingly civilized and sustainable Hai Phong.
