According to Reuters, Taiwanese authorities on June 7 granted permission to increase an additional 101 million USD into Vietnam by Pegatron Corp, the production partner [...]

Taiwan Economic Authority, which is responsible for approving overseas investments by Taiwanese companies, said the investment in Pegatron Vietnam's subsidiary to produce and sell computers, peripheral devices, communications equipment and electronic components.
Pegatron has not shared any other information about this deal with the media.

Reuters also reported that previously, in September 2020, Vietnamese state media reported that Pegatron was looking to invest $1 billion in three phases in production facilities in fields such as computers, communications and consumer electronics in Vietnam.
Regarding Pegatron's 1 billion USD investment in Vietnam, the first project is located in Hai Phong with a total capital of about 19 million USD, the second project is expected to be about 481 million USD in Deep C Industrial Park (belonging to Dinh Vu-Cat Hai Economic Zone) to produce electronic equipment including consumer electronics, computers and computer peripherals, transmission equipment communications, electronic components, circuit boards. And the third project of 500 million USD has not been mentioned.
Pegatron is best known as a key supplier to Apple, along with Foxconn and Taiwan's Wistron Corp. Pegatron is currently one of the 3 largest iPhone manufacturers in China and India. The other two major manufacturers are Foxconn and Winstron. Previously, in the 2020 annual report, Pegatron Group also mentioned continuing to expand production facilities to Vietnam and India to meet strong changes in the supply chain.
