– Chairman of the City People's Committee has just issued a Directive requiring Departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts to thoroughly grasp and implement synchronously, consistently, promptly, and effectively solutionsto promote the implementation of the Project on applying information and communication technology in the State Statistics System for the period 2017 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 in Hai Phong city.
By the end of 2023, the city's tasks in implementing the Project have achieved outstanding positive results: using smart technology in the stages of the census and annual statistical surveys; effectively use administrative data in a number of areas to serve the compilation of statistical expenditures; building software to synthesize and disseminate statistical reports;... However, in the process of organizing and implementing, administrative data serving the compilation of statistical indicators between departments, branches, localities, units and statistical agencies has not been standardized; IT infrastructure does not meet the requirements of modern statistical work...
To overcome the above shortcomings and limitations, Directive 15/CT-UBND requires strong application of information and communication technology and data science methods to improve the quality of statistical information. Innovating statistical surveys; integrating and using administrative data; collect and process big data; disseminate statistical information and share data and statistical information in the direction of improving users' access to information and using statistical information effectively.
The directive requires the City Statistics Department to actively propagate and disseminate to raise awareness and responsibility of IT applications in the field of statistics to all civil servants and workers in the industry and relevant organizations and individuals in the city. Promote computerization of the process of synthesizing and disseminating statistical information and reporting on the socio-economic situation monthly, quarterly and annually; Promote connection of administrative data to exploit and use for statistical work, as a foundation for building the city statistical database; Strengthen training and fostering to improve information technology capacity for civil servants in charge of carrying out statistical work in localities...
Assign departments, branches, branches, units, and localities to promote standardization, connection, and sharing of administrative data within the scope of management; Arranging IT application resources in statistical surveys and other statistical activities to fully calculate statistical indicators; At the same time, promote the propaganda of IT applications in statistical activities and propagate the Project on application of information and communication technology in the State Statistics System in the period of 2017 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.
