(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Within the framework of a working visit on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the twinning between Hai Phong city and Kitakyushu (Japan). On the morning of May 12, the delegation of Kitakyushu city led by Mr. Kenji Kitahashi, Mayor of Kitakyushu city, visited and surveyed the An Duong Water Supply Plant. Accompanying him was Mr. Kouichi Murakami, Chairman of the Kitakyushu City People's Council.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Tran Viet Cuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company; and representatives of relevant Department and functional agencies.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Viet Cuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Water Supply Joint Stock Company, said that implementing the Friendship Cooperation Program between the two cities, in recent years, Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company and Kitakyushu City Water Supply and Sewerage Department have proactively established relationships and implemented many specific cooperation programs in many fields. A typical example is the technical solution for treating organic matter in water using U-BCF biological treatment technology of Kitakyushu city; Solutions to improve water supply system management capacity, reduce water loss... these applications have immediately brought efficiency to the treatment and management of the water supply system of Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh expressed his recognition and appreciation for the support of Kitakyushu city to Hai Phong city in researching the treatment of organic matter in water using UBCF biological contact filtration technology, which was successfully tested at Vinh Bao Water Plant and is being deployed at An Duong water plant. The application of UBCF water treatment technology is being evaluated as the most advanced and modern technology in the world, marking a new and sustainable step forward in the cooperation process between the two localities. In particular, in April 2016, Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company held the opening of the Kitakyushu International Business Support Center and had an Office in Co.Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company. This can be considered an important cooperation activity, creating favorable trading and working conditions for Japanese partners, while enhancing cooperation in the field of water supply in particular and friendly exchanges in general.
The Vice Chairman also expressed his belief that, through the support of Kitakyushu city, ongoing projects in Hai Phong will achieve high efficiency, contributing to improving the quality of life of people and developing the city according to the criteria of being a green, sustainable and modern port city.
