(Haiphong.gov.vn) - Vietnam Maritime Administration has just issued Decision 226/QD-CHHVN announcing the opening of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT), belonging to Lach Huyen Port Area of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port Co., Ltd., to receive Vietnamese and foreign ships, engage in cargo loading and unloading activities and perform other related maritime services.

Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (abbreviated name: TC-HICT), located on the left side of Hai Phong navigation channel, in Cat Hai district. The port is located in the seaport waters under the management area of Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority as announced by the Ministry of Transport in Circular No. 23/2019/TT-BGTVT dated June 21, 2019.
The port has a total length of 750m (Wharf No. 1 is 375m long, Wharf No. 2 is 375m long), receiving ships up to 50,000 DWT full load and 145,000 DWT reduced load with appropriate draft (ships with tonnage over 100,000 DWT up to 132,900 DWT reduced maximum draft 14.3m, ships with tonnage over 132,900 DWT to 145,000 DWT reduce maximum draft to 14.0m); Wharf No. 1A has a length of 150m, receiving ships and barges with a capacity of 100Teus (equivalent to a ship of 2,000DWT).
Accordingly, Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority is responsible for specialized State management of maritime affairs in the above-mentioned port and wharf areas and collects fees according to legal regulations. Based on the wharf operating conditions, actual conditions of the wharf, navigational channels in the area, water depth limits in front of the wharf, ship entrance and exit channels (according to maritime notices), etc., wharf design documents, wharf operating conditions, regulations in this Decision, approved safety plans and relevant legal provisions to allow vessels with appropriate tonnage and draft to enter, exit, anchor, load and unload goods and perform other tasks. Other maritime services at the above-mentioned wharves with requirements to ensure maritime safety and security hmaritime, fire and explosion prevention and environmental pollution prevention.
Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. is responsible for Pursuant to the provisions of this Decision, relevant legal provisions and wharf design documents, technical specifications of ships according to designs and technical instructions approved by competent authorities to specifically notify the operating conditions and organize the exploitation and operation of the wharf for the right purpose. Review, complete and approve the project's operation, exploitation and maintenance procedures in accordance with the wharf design according to current regulations; During the operation process, it is necessary to regularly monitor, observe, inspect and evaluate the safety of the project to promptly handle incidents when incidents arise and carry out maintenance work of wharfs, periodically surveying notices to mariners about the depth of the areas.Water in front of the wharf, wharf access channel and wharf's turning basin according to regulations to maintain the condition and technical specifications of the project, ensuring normal operation and safety when used and exploited.
