(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of July 26, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung inspected the field and listened to a report on the implementation plan for the investment project to build a road connecting Do Muoi street with the road to Vu Yen island. Also attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

Accordingly, the road has a length of about 2.4 km, a roadbed width of 36m, a median strip of 4m wide with a synchronous drainage and lighting system... Preliminary total investment of nearly 900 billion VND. The cleared area is about 8.64 hectares in 2 communes Duong Quan and An Lu, Thuy Nguyen district. Implementation time is from 2024 – 2027.

Currently, the North - South axis routes connecting Thuy Nguyen with the city center are basically guaranteed according to planning, but the connection direction in the East - West direction still has many limitations (there is only route 9C). Therefore, traffic in the direction from North Song Cam Urban Area, VSIP Industrial Park, Vu Yen Island to the city center mainly follows the direction of circuit 9C – Mang Nuoc – Do Muoi – Hoang Van Thu bridge. The North-South road through Nguyen Trai bridge, the road connecting Vu Yen island has been built but has not yet connected to Do Muoi street, the City's Political - Administrative Center (North of Cam River).

On the other hand, the Northern Song Cam resettlement area and the population in the northern area of An Lu commune when connecting to the new Political - Administrative Center are walking on narrow, difficult alleys. Therefore, the investment in the road connecting Do Muoi street with North-South road and the road to Vu Yen island aims to complete the traffic system connecting the city's Political and Administrative Center area, sharing traffic flow between Hoang Van Thu bridge and Nguyen Trai bridge. At the same time, contributing to urban beautification of the surrounding area, gradually improving the transportation system according to planning.
After listening to the opinions of relevant departments, branches, localities, and units, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned Thuy Nguyen district as the Project Investor and the Department of Finance to balance medium-term capital for the period 2024 - 2025 for implementation. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with VSIP Industrial Park to review the allocated land area, cleared land area, and propose solutions.

Chairman of the City People's Committee requested VSIP Industrial Park to agree with the city's policy on investing in the Project; Vingroup will soon research the investment policy to build Vu Yen 2 bridge. The units completed procedures to submit to the City People's Council in September this year and are expected to start construction in mid-2025./.
