Improving the proportion of livestock production value in agriculture

According to statistics, in the period 2015-2020, the total number of pig semen doses supported was 5.062 million doses, breeding 1.84 million sows; The number of doses of buffalo and cow semen supported is 2,714 million doses, breeding 1,913 million buffaloes and cows; The number of supported buffaloes and bulls is 1,948 with a support cost of 20.5 billion VND, 528 boars are supported with a support cost of 1.9 billion VND and 146 thousand parent chickens and ducks are supported with a cost of 3.376 billion VND.
In addition, the policy of supporting the construction of livestock waste treatment works has greatly contributed to solving the current pressing problem of environmental pollution in livestock farming while improving people's health through reducing odors, air pollution, etc. In addition, the products of livestock waste treatment works also provide additional sources of fuel and fertilizer for plants, serving clean agricultural production.
However, the process of implementing policies to support improving the efficiency of livestock farming according to Decision 50 still has some limitations, typically: some localities have not been proactive in their local budgets; Beneficiaries of the support policy for purchasing breeds are farmers in difficult and extremely difficult areas, low-income ethnic minority areas, so they have not focused on investing and applying new techniques to develop livestock production and treat livestock waste; Support procedures and documents are still complicated and not convenient when applying and implementing...
Developing household livestock production in a sustainable and effective manner
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said that in order to improve efficiency, increase added value, and minimize vulnerability to the livestock industry when Vietnam participates in comprehensive integration with countries in the region and the world, contributing to implementing the Law on Livestock and implementing the Livestock Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2045, it is necessary to have a state policy to create supportive resources. livestock support for the period 2021-2025.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized that in the Livestock Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2045 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1520/QD-TTg dated June 10, 2020, in parallel with promoting large-scale livestock farming, it is still necessary to pay attention to smallholder farming, traditional livestock farming associated with the development of special livestock farming. products, eco-tourism.
In Hai Phong, implementing Decision No. 50/2014/QD-TTg dated September 4, 2014 of the Prime Minister on "Policy to support improving the efficiency of livestock farming in the period 2015-2020"; The City People's Committee issued Decision No. 2724/2015/QD-UBND dated December 4, 2015 on detailed regulations on support policies for livestock farming in Hai Phong city for the period 2015-2020.
