(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of January 16, the City's Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development held a Conference to summarize the work in 2019, deploying tasks and work plans for 2020. Comrade Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for City's Collective Economic Development chaired the Conference. Attending were leaders of districts, related units and members of the City's Collective Economic Development Steering Committee.
According to the report of the City's Collective Economic Development Steering Committee, in 2019, the collective economic sector had many positive changes; Cooperatives, cooperative unions, and cooperative groups have operated effectively, creating more jobs and income for members and workers, fulfilling obligations to the state budget; Actively contributing to stabilizing the city's economic and political situation. The whole city has over 2,500 cooperative groups, 342 cooperatives are operating, of which over 60% of cooperatives are operating effectively. The number of newly established cooperatives continues to increase in number, during the year there were 25 cooperatives and 45 newly established cooperative groups.
In 2020, the City's Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development proposed 9 tasks, of which the focus is on the following tasks: Focus on promoting the propaganda of the Central Resolutions on continuing to innovate, develop and improve collective economic efficiency, the 2012 Law on Cooperatives and mechanisms and policies related to collective economic development. Review the mechanisms and policies of the Central Government and the city that have been implementing support for collective economic development. Focus on improving the training and fostering of cooperative management officials and state management officials in the collective economic sector.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of the City's Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development, highly appreciated the role of the Steering Committee for City's Collective Economic Development and recognized the results of efforts of sectors, party committees, and local authorities. Along with implementing 9 key tasks in 2020, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and Head of the City's Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development requested members of the City's Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development to effectively implement each assigned task based on their tasks; create the most favorable conditions for collective economic development. At the same time, increasing resources and effective support for HTX; improve the quality of training for cooperative management staff; Review tasks and proactively implement the 2020 work plan of the Cooperative Economic Development Steering Committee. The City Alliance of Cooperatives and Enterprises continues to enhance its role, responsibility and operational efficiency, ensuring good promotion of the representative role of collective economic units, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members.
