(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of March 27, comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation chaired an inspection of the construction situation of a model new rural commune; agricultural production in An Duong district and Tien Lang district.

According to localities, the construction of new model rural communes is currently being accelerated, achieving many important results. An Duong district has been recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2020. To date, the district has 10/15 communes (67%) meeting advanced new rural standards, 5/15 communes (33%) meeting model new rural standards. In 2024, the district will deploy model new rural construction in 3 communes: An Dong, Nam Son, Le Loi. Model new rural construction projects are being accelerated, basically ensuring progress.

According to Tien Lang district, by the end of 2023, the district will have 12/20 communes recognized by the city as meeting advanced and model new rural standards. Currently, the district is invested in 5 new model rural communes for 2023-2024, and has approved a total of 127 projects...
However, the district encountered some difficulties and obstacles in site clearance; moving electrical technical infrastructure; Implement traffic criteria; education, health, culture, environment... The district requested the city to allocate funds for the remaining communes to build new 2024-2025 model rural areas to organize and deploy the construction of projects, ensuring that the set criteria are met.
Directly inspect the progress of building model new rural areas in An Hung communes (An Duong); Tu Cuong, Bach Dang (Tien Lang) and listening to the reports of the districts, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau acknowledged the efforts of the districts in building model new rural areas. However, progress has not met requirements; There are still many difficulties and problems. Regarding agricultural production, An Duong district has a total agricultural land area of 4,917.4 hectares (of which: rice land 2,682.4 hectares; annual and perennial plants 1,350 hectares; ornamental flowers and plants 600 hectares, aquaculture 285 hectares). The value of agricultural and fishery production in 2023 reaches 1,017.43 billion VND, an increase of 38.49 billion VND compared to 2020. The production value/hectare of cultivation in 2023 reaches 245 million VND/ha, an increase of 42.3 million VND/ha compared to 2020. The growth rate of agricultural production value in 2023 reaches 1.4%. In 2023, the economic structure of agriculture and fisheries managed by the district accounts for 13.53% (down 2.35% compared to 2020). Tien Lang district has 13,031 hectares of agricultural land, accounting for 16.03% of the city. Currently, the district plans 2 vegetable production areas in Tien Minh and Toan Thang with an area of 155 hectares; Quang Phuc 100 hectares; 13 organic farming areas with 194 hectares; There are 2 typical concentrated commodity production models such as bananas in Tay Hung commune with 20 hectares granted an export growing area code; potatoes for processing, linking product consumption with the Institute of Agricultural Biology on 130 hectares in Quyet Tien, Quang Phuc, Cap Tien... Products with advantages, typically pipe tobacco with geographical indications (Kien Thiet); onions, garlic, cucumbers, herbs (Dong Hung); watermelon (Tu Cuong, Tien Cuong); yellow flower sticky rice (Jiangkou - Dai Thang), banana (Tay Hung)...
The Secretary of the City Party Committee highly appreciated the effectiveness of agricultural development in localities, focusing on developing commodity production; high-value plants and animals, increasing income per unit area, increasing income for farmers. He noted that districts focus heavily on agricultural production, especially high-value models, and develop high-tech agricultural production and clean products.
Visit typical production models such as: green onion production facility exported to the Japanese and Korean markets in An Hung commune; Hoa May Sanh production facility in Tan Tien commune, An Duong district, the Secretary of the City Party Committee welcomed, recognized and highly appreciated the effectiveness of the models, promoting land value, concentrating and accumulating land; create jobs for workers with stable income. The Secretary of the City Party Committee requested district and commune leaders to pay attention and create favorable conditions for establishments in all aspects, especially in concentrating and accumulating land to replicate models and expand production scale by about 20-30 hectares.
