(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of June 17, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong received and worked with the Delegation of Gia Hung City, Zhejiang Province, China led by Mayor Ly Quan. Also attending were leaders of city sectors.

Pleased to welcome the Gia Hung City Delegation, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong introduced some general and outstanding features of the potential and strengths of Hai Phong city. At the same time, he emphasized that China is an important partner of Vietnam in general and of Hai Phong in particular. Currently, Hai Phong has 394 investment projects of Chinese investors (including mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) with a total registered investment capital of 6.1 billion USD, including enterprises from Gia Hung city. Chinese investment projects are mainly in the fields of: manufacturing and processing industry, investment and business in industrial park infrastructure and real estate, and trading of commercial goods.

According to the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Hai Phong is focusing on infrastructure development; Industrial Parks (IZs), Economic Zones (EZs), especially the Southern Coastal Economic Zones (EZs) with an area of 20,000 hectares. According to Hai Phong city planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the city prioritizes the development of key industries that play a leading role in the city's economic growth, including: electronic products and information technology; seaport and logistics services; commerce.
