Opening of the 26th Session (Thematic Session) of the XVI City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026

On the afternoon of June 16, at the City Convention Center, the City People's Council held the opening ceremony of the 26th Session (Thematic Session) of the XVI City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026 to consider and decide on important and urgent contents, serving the city's socio-economic development, national defense and security. 

Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Pham Van Lap, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; Comrades, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; leaders of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; City People's Council delegates and leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Speaking at the opening of the Meeting, Chairman of the City People's Council Pham Van Lap said that the 26th Session is the 4th thematic session of the City People's Council in 2025. At this meeting, the City People's Council will consider, give opinions and resolutions: Abolish the City People's Council's resolution on additional support for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers when streamlining the apparatus. Decide on support for implementation of national defense and security tasks. Resolution on the list of land recovery projects, land use conversion purposes, and land plots for investment project bidding. Approve the city budget settlement for 2024. Regulate fees for carrying out online administrative procedures. Approve investment policies and adjust investment policies for public investment projects.

Chairman of the City People's Council emphasized that the above contents are very important and urgent, both ensuring implementation of the new directions of the Central Government and ensuring not to disrupt the city's socio-economic development when streamlining the organization and apparatus according to the 2-level local government model.

The Chairman of the City People's Council requested the City People's Council delegates to promote a sense of responsibility, focus on research, discussion, and contribute ideas to achieve high consensus, pass resolutions, and soon meet real-life requirements./.
