– On the morning of January 29, the Department of Information and Communications organized a technical and technology training program on converting to IPv6. Participating in the training course were more than 70 students who are officials and civil servants in charge of information technology at units in the city.

Accordingly, the Department of Information and Communications advised the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to issue Plan No. 174/KH-UBND dated July 23, 2021 to convert from IPv4 to IPv6 addresses in state agencies. Accordingly, the Plan is divided into 3 phases: Phase 1: preparation phase (from August 2021 to December 2022); Phase 2: official transition period from IPv4 to IPv6 addresses in some systems (from January 2023 to December 2023); Phase 3: the official transition period from IPv4 to IPv6 addresses throughout the city (from January 2024 to December 2025).

In his opening speech of the technical and technological training course on digital conversion to IPv6, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Pham Van Tuan emphasized: The conversion from IPv4 to IPv6 is inevitable in the current context. Deploying the new generation IPv6 Internet conversion early and methodically in Vietnam in general and Hai Phong city in particular will contribute to affirming its position in digital transformation and realizing the mission of applying high technology to develop a safe and sustainable Internet environment. The course is organized to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and jointly implement effective IPv6 conversion in their units, contributing to effectively implementing the transition to IPv6 in state agencies.
