Sign the route named after comrade Do Muoi - late General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam

On the morning of May 13, the City People's Committee organized a ceremony to attach a road sign named after comrade Do Muoi - late General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the Political - Administrative Center North of Cam River, Thuy Nguyen City.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Pham Van Lap, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council and other members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; leaders of the city's departments, branches and branches and the family of the late General Secretary Do Muoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho affirmed: The ceremony of attaching the nameplate to Do Muoi street on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong's liberation (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025) to remember the event in 1955, the late General Secretary Do Muoi was assigned to direct and take over the area for 300 days, serving as City Party Secretary and Secretary. Chairman of the Military Affairs Committee of Hai Phong city (March 1955). At the same time, it is an opportunity to honor and commemorate the late General Secretary Do Muoi - a person who made great contributions to the cause of fighting for national liberation, building and protecting the Vietnamese Fatherland and building Hai Phong city, contributing to educating revolutionary historical traditions for generations. It can be affirmed that during his time as Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, especially during the first period of taking over the citycity, in an extremely difficult context, but the comrades quickly grasped the situation, devised clever strategies, skillfully led the movement, both building a new life for the People and dealing with internal and external enemies. Thanks to that, Hai Phong was able to maintain the People's government, expand the National United Front, and build a large and strong armed force; Completely defeated the invasion plot of the French colonialists. In that common victory, there was a very important contribution from the late City Party Secretary Do Muoi. Later, although he held many higher responsibilities, he still had a special affection for Hai Phong. Every time he visited and worked with the Port city, he left many deep impressions in the hearts of officers, soldiers and people of Hai Phong.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, daughter of the late General Secretary Do Muoi, emotionally shared: "The decision of Hai Phong city to name a street after him is not only a noble recognition of the contributions he devoted his entire life to his homeland and country, but also a source of encouragement and deep pride not only for the people of Hai Phong city but also for the entire family, lineage, and children's generations." Do Muoi route starts from the foot of Hoang Van Thu bridge and extends to the backbone of VSIP Industrial Park. This is a route with beautiful, synchronous, modern infrastructure and in the center of the North Cam River Political-Administrative Center.

This route has been invested since 2019, as part of the overall technical infrastructure construction project of the North Song Cam new urban area, with a length of about 1.6 km from Hoang Van Thu bridge to the end of the project, the road cross-section width is 66 m; with 10 lanes, sidewalks, trees and a modern, synchronous technical infrastructure system. Total project investment is 1,066 billion VND, from the city budget. It is the main axis of the region, connecting the urban core of Hai Phong with the city's new Political-Administrative Center./.
