1.Operating situation:

In the first 5 months of 2015, it is estimated that foreign direct investment projects disbursed 4.95 billion USD, an increase of 7.6% over the same period in 2014.
Export and import situation:
Exports of the foreign invested sector (including crude oil) in the first 5 months of 2015 reached 44.37 billion USD, up 12.2% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 70% of total export turnover. Imports of the foreign investment sector in the first 5 months of 2015 reached 39.67 billion USD, up 23.2% over the same period in 2014 and accounting for 67% of total import turnover. Overall, in the first 5 months of 2015, the foreign investment sector had a trade surplus of 4.69 billion USD.
According to reports received, as of May 20, 2015, the whole country had 592 new projects granted Investment Certificates with a total registered capital of 2.95 billion USD, equal to 80.6% over the same period in 2014. There were 210 projects registered to increase investment capital with a total additional registered capital of 1.34 billion USD, equal to 72.9% over the same period last year. 2014.

In the first 5 months of 2015, foreign investors have invested in 14 industries, of which the processing and manufacturing industry is the field that has attracted a lot of attention from foreign investors with 269 newly registered investment projects and 142 capital increase projects, with a total newly granted and increased capital of 3.15 billion USD, accounting for 73.4% of total registered investment capital. The Real Estate Business sector ranked second with 10 newly registered projects and 7 capital increase projects with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 461.5 million USD, accounting for 10.7% of total investment capital. Ranked third is the Wholesale, Retail and Repair sector with 92 new investment projects and 19 capital increase projects, total newly registered and increased investment capital is 234.12 million USD.

There are 47 countries and territories with investment projects in Vietnam. Korea leads with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 1.1 billion USD, accounting for 25.7% of total investment capital in Vietnam. BritishVirginIslands ranked second with a capital of 663.24 million USD, accounting for 15.4% of total investment capital, Türkiye ranked third with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 660.2 million USD, accounting for 15.3% of total investment capital; Japan ranked 4th with total newly registered and increased investment capital of 431.7 million USD, accounting for 10% of total investment capital.
By investment area:
In the first 5 months of 2015, foreign investors have invested in 40 provinces and cities, of which Ho Chi Minh City is the locality that attracts the most foreign investment capital with a total newly registered and increased investment capital of 983.5 million USD, accounting for 22.9% of total registered investment capital. Dong Nai ranked second with a total newly registered and increased capital of 948.7 million USD, accounting for 21.1%. Hai Phong ranked third with a total newly registered and increased capital of 319.3 million USD, accounting for 7.4%.
In terms of regions, the Southeast is the region that attracts the most foreign investment capital with total new and additional investment capital reaching 2.29 billion USD, accounting for 53.3% of the total registered investment capital of the country. Ranked second is the Red River Delta region with total new and increased investment capital reaching 1.24 billion USD, accounting for 29.1% of total registered investment capital. The Central Highlands is the region that attracted the least foreign investment in the country. In 5 months, the whole region only attracted 17.43 million USD, accounting for 0.4% of the country's total registered investment capital.

– Hyosung Dong Nai Co., Ltd. project with total investment capital of 660 million USD invested by Turkish investors in Dong Nai Industrial Park with the goal of producing and processing all kinds of fibers.
– Worldon (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. project with total investment capital of 300 million USD invested by investor BritishVirginIslands in Ho Chi Minh City with the goal of producing high-end garment products.
– Tra Vinh 1 Wind Power Company Limited project in Tra Vinh invests in the field of electricity production from wind energy to supply electricity to the national grid, invested by Korean investors with a capital of 120 million USD.
– KMW Vietnam Co., Ltd. project has a total investment of 100 million USD by Korean investors in Ha Nam province with the goal of producing telecommunications equipment using radio and LED lighting equipment.
