{"id":8152,"date":"2022-07-25T04:16:10","date_gmt":"2022-07-25T04:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/haiphongdpi.gov.vn\/eng\/?p=8152"},"modified":"2022-07-25T04:16:10","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T04:16:10","slug":"vietnam-attends-asean-japan-joint-cooperation-committee-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sotc.haiphong.gov.vn\/eng\/vietnam-attends-asean-japan-joint-cooperation-committee-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Vietnam attends ASEAN-Japan joint cooperation committee meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"head\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 16th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting has underscored the commitment of both sides to further advance the partnership towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsivel aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/baohaiphong.com.vn\/baohp\/en\/upload\/info\/image\/2022\/3\/30\/1648648647709_asean_japan_commit_to_promoting_partnership.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>At the event (Photo: asean.org)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jakarta (VNA)\u00a0&#8211; Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN, has attended the 16th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The recent online event underscored the commitment of both sides to further advance the partnership towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations next year.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting welcomed the continued efforts in the implementation of cooperation activities and projects under the Implementation Plan of the 2013 Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides agreed to further enhancing cooperation in areas of common interests, including trade and investment, tourism, disaster management, health, humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, smart cities, cybersecurity, connectivity and people-to-people exchanges as well as in regional post-pandemic recovery. They also emphasised the need to continue promoting economic cooperation, including through the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.<\/p>\n<p>ASEAN appreciated Japan\u2019s support to its efforts in handling COVID-19 challenges for the last two years, including the establishment and operations of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases Centre.<\/p>\n<p>ASEAN took note of Japan\u2019s proposal of designating 2023 as \u201cthe 50th Year of\u00a0ASEAN-Japan\u00a0Friendship and Cooperation\u201d to celebrate the milestone with various commemorative activities.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides exchanged views on developments in ASEAN and Japan as well on international and regional issues, with Japan reaffirming support for the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).<\/p>\n<p>Both agreed to strengthen ASEAN-Japan practical cooperation in the four areas outlined in the AOIP, in line with the ASEAN-Japan Joint Statement on Cooperation on AOIP adopted by the leaders in 2020.\/.<\/p>\n<p>baohaiphong.com.vn<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 16th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting has underscored the commitment of both sides to further advance the partnership towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations next year.
